Well, I didn’t finish it, but I made good progress on a wire wrapped piece using a Morrisonite Jasper cab – it’s a stone I’ve had for over two years. The design is based on a simple cab wrap, with some fine wire wrapping on the sides, incorporating small silver beads.  I’m debating about the bail – it’ll probably wind up being woven and embellished a little, but I’ll make the final decision when the rest of the wrapping is done.

All in all, it was a lovely afternoon in the studio – I finished organizing a few things and looked through my cab and donut stash to see what other ideas might be lurking, just waiting to be sparked by the right color or shape or texture.

Here’s the stone with the initial wire wrap, just after the final fitting for shape and fit.
The wrapped piece, getting a little additional embellishment on the sides. The bail wires are still sticking straight up at the top.
