… and the 3rd and the 4th…
Yes, yes, I am catching up. It’s Christmas week and we’ve been spending time with friends, I’ve been at Wired Designs, and we’ve been getting ready for our daughter’s arrival for a visit.
(She got here today – isn’t she adorable??)
So we’ve been really busy, and the only time I’ve had for taking photos has been at night – and as a public service announcement, let me tell you that there’s not a lot of natural light at night. So I only got to take these photos today. As I mentioned in my previous post about the 12 Days of Handmade Christmas, I am a complete loser.
On the 2nd day of Christmas…
I got this lovely lampworked snowflake pendant from Marcy Lamberson.
Marcy is an Atlanta glass artist who makes some of the most adorable and whimsical lampworked beads – in fact, she frequently does commissions from pet owners for beads that resemble their pets. (I found this blog post from someone who attended Marcy’s presentation at this year’s ISGB Gathering, which has some photos of her pet beads – they are so sweet!) I was also very interested by the wire wrapped bail she put on the pendant – it’s very simple and elegant, and something I might have to steal for some of my enameled pieces. Thank you, Marcy!!
On the 3rd day of Christmas…
I got this gorgeous copper-cored lampworked bead from Donna Millard.
I have been a huge fan of Donna’s for over a year – she frequently posts photos of her current work in Facebook group we’re both part of, and they never fail to make my jaw drop. So when I saw her name on the list of participants for this swap, I was very excited to see what she would send us all – and I wasn’t disappointed. This bead has great color and I love the copper caps and core. It will look lovely on my Pandora bracelet! Thank you, Donna!
On the 4th day of Christmas…
I got a gorgeous cheese server adorned with multiple lampworked beads by Pam Ferrari.
Pam does very beautiful and unusual beads – I am especially enamored of her nugget-style beads, and I just love the surface textures she uses. The colors that she used for this gift are so vibrant and wonderful (I love blues and teals together!), and Pam even included a color-coordinated plate to go with it. Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a freak for a good cheese plate, and I have some wonderful cheeses and a nice salami in the fridge that hubby bought for me earlier in the week. This gift will be getting a trial run tonight or tomorrow, along with a nice glass of wine. Thank you, Pam!
