I’m contacting Sue by e-mail to arrange delivery of her new necklace – thanks to everyone who participated.

*******

I’ve spent the last few months keenly aware of God’s working in my life, and all that I have to be thankful for in my life. I’ve written about it – more than once – and I hope that in some way, I’ve expressed it in my work and the way that I interact with others. My life these days is extraordinary, 180 degrees from where I was – emotionally, spiritually, physically – a year ago.

Among other things, I am celebrating the extraordinary online community of creative people that has become part of my daily life in the last six months. I am struck by their generosity, their passion, and their vision, and I am profoundly humbled by the way I have been welcomed and encouraged in their midst. In their honor, I’m doing my own version of Black Friday – only it’s lasting longer and you don’t have to get up in the dark and stand in line to get cool stuff.

First, the Art Jewelry Elements team will be holding an online open house on Friday, November 23. There will be multiple posts by all the team members throughout the day, and we’ll be offering discounts in our Etsy shops just for AJE readers through Cyber Monday – details on how to take advantage of those offers will be shared on Friday. Posts will include everything from flash auctions to studio tours to bread recipes, so grab a mug of something hot and yummy, curl up in your favorite chair, and spend a little time getting to know these amazing women. You won’t be sorry!

Second, the Artisan Whimsy team is hosting a week-long holiday market running from Friday, November 23 through Friday, November 30, featuring a whole host of artisans – and many, many giveaways! Every participating artist will be offering something special, so check out this link for easy access to all the blogs and shops that are part of the Artisan Whimsy market. In my shop, I’ll be offering a 10% discount for the whole week, on everything in the shop – and I’ll be adding new stuff every day. Starting Friday, you can use code AWHOLIDAY at checkout – shipping is free in the U.S.! (Please note that this event overlaps the AJE event, but you can only use one code!)

You have four opportunities to win:

  1. Leave a comment on this post telling me what one item would be on your wishlist this year if you had all the time, money and/or other necessary resources in the world.
  2. Go over to my Etsy shop and favorite the shop plus one item you really like. Come back here and leave me a comment with a link to the item you liked. (Please note that linked comments require moderation so it may take a little time for your comment to appear.)
  3. Share this giveaway with your friends on Facebook or Twitter by linking back to this post then come back here and leave me a comment letting me know that you did it. (We’re working on the honor system here, OK? If you share on both Facebook and Twitter, leave two comments – one for each – for an extra chance to win.)

Remember that only comments on this post will count as giveaway entries!

So instead of standing outside in the cold on Friday looking for good deals, choose one or both of these events and shop handmade for the holidays this year. It’s not only an opportunity to get beautiful, unique items for your friends and family, it’s also a concrete way of supporting the artists who make them. Remember too that I will be adding at least one new item to the shop every day beginning Friday, so check back periodically.

From my house to yours, I wish my American friends the happiest Thanksgiving Day – I hope it’s full of good food, love, and opportunities to reflect on and be grateful for all the wonderful things in your life. For my international friends, I wish you a happy Thursday and the start of a wonderful holiday season!

Hoearing about and watching your journey/develpment had been amazing and I am grateful that you have shared. I love what you are doing and how you are growing. I think one of my favs is the fold formed ammonite pendant – so rich – I just love it.

Hmm… If I had to pick one (utopia one) – would be the ability to teach kids what’s important in life, way before they learn it by themselves (and lost precious time). A more real one would be my own studio: for metalworking and lampworking. And some extra crafts in there too 🙂
Love your piece, Francesca, simply love it!

My country, Greece, is going through dramatic times -to be specific, its PEOPLE.
Needless to say I wish for it to be gone and people stop suffering.
To say sth personal, I’d wish for enough supplies and time to make sth beautiful for every mother here that has made so many sacrifices for her kids this year that she spared nothing to get herself a nice piece of jewellery.
I wish i can make and gift a piece to each an every one of them…

If I had the world at my finger tips and had one wish, I think it would be enough knowledge to help me thought the projects I am dying to try…… I would love to make a piece like yours, so clean looking, yet conservative and go any where, any time, with anything. http://www.francescawatson.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Giveaway-Board.jpg

http://www.etsy.com/listing/110464164/fold-formed-ammonite-necklace-ammonite I like this listing the best on your etsy site, its in perfect harmony with the colors, style and size or the natural ammonite.

If I had unlimited resources, I would by all the tools I need for good wire working. I’d also like a set of punches and the dapper set. I’d also like to take classes for those projects. I’d also like to start learning to use patinas. Ok I think that’s enough. But….the smallest item I would love is a pin vice.
