I’ve had the most amazing weekend, starting with turning 50 (half a century!) and ending with a day of rest to recover. My dearest friends (and fellow foodies) kicked off the weekend by preparing a delicious shrimp pasta dinner, complete with wine, cigars, and a meringue dessert that just blew my mind.
Saturday morning consisted of a massage, a pedicure, and a return home to a surprise party that genuinely took me by surprise. I am usually pretty good at figuring those things out but this one really got me. 25 or 30 friends, more good food – even a pinata!
I barely made it to church this morning, and wound up leaving early and coming home to rest – aches, chills, and exhaustion. At 50, I guess I’m entitled to a few more naps, hmmm?
So while I was lying on my couch this afternoon, I started thinking about the website I half-heartedly began putting together more than a year ago but never really launched. I have often wished – especially recently – for a place to write and I periodically get requests from friends who want me to give them a place to come and check out my current work. It didn’t take me too long to get this done today – though I will undoubtedly be tweaking it a lot over the next couple of weeks – and in fact, I find myself wondering just what the heck took me so long.
So, in honor of turning 50, here’s a new beginning. I’ve put up photos of some older pieces (because – truthfully – I’ve done a terrible job of keeping up with photographing pieces before they walk out the door) and will try to stay current on posts and whatever I’m actually working on.
Come on in and take a look around – but be patient, because this site (like me) is a work in progress!
